Describing a Historical Place

Fort Rinella is at Kalkara. At the front of Fort Rinella there is a bent entry which was used to hide the fort so nobody could find it. Even closer there is a dry ditch. It was used as a moat to protect the fort. Inside Fort Rinella there is the loading chamber which was used to move one ton shells to load the hundred ton cannon. Near the loading chamber there was a steam engine which was used to move the cannon. The whole fort was used for the defence of Malta.

Today things are different because now the fort is a tourist attraction. The bent entry is the entrance to the fort. The dried ditch is just a tourist attraction. In the loading chamber there are only rails on the floor and the steam engine is no longer there.

Fort Rinella is a nice place to visit and it is more than just a building with a hundred ton cannon.
